nCubed Free Image Gallery - Overview
The nCubed.com Free Image Gallery allows you to rapidly deploy a dynamic image gallery to any ASP/VBScript page in your site. From a single image gallery to a hundred image galleries (or more!) can be driven by a single page.
Requirements
You must be hosted on a server that support ASP/VBScript and the FileSystemObject (FSO). Any Windows NT or Windows 2000 should meet these requirements by default.
This is a Dreamweaver MX only extension. We will be releasing a raw script soon (i.e., a version that does not require Dreamweaver in order to use).
Features
The nCubed.com Free Image Gallery includes the following features:
- A Dreamweaver MX Server Behavior Extension to do most all the work for you.
- Display an unlimited number of galleries on one page.
- Organize your image galleries by category.
- Click thumbnail images to display full size images in a popup window.
- Quickly enable/disable galleries and individual images just by simply renaming a folder or file.
- Choose how many columns in the thumbnails' table to use in your gallery display.
- Place the gallery navigation wherever you want on the page.
- Place the images wherever you want on the page.
- Present captions for each image based on the image name.
- Title your image galleries based on the name of the folder the images reside.
- Conditionally show information on the page depending if a gallery is being viewed or not.
Marketing Fluff
The nCubed.com Free Image Gallery was developed so you can concentrate your time and energies on your images rather than creating page after page of code to present them. Once you create the first (and only) page to display your images, you can literally create additional image galleries by uploading the images to your server. The script is smart enough to know when new images have been added and will immediately present them to your users.
What if you want to have different types of image galleries on the same page? For instance you could have a gallery of vintage hats, a collection of babie photos and a demonstration of your son's vast insect collection. The nCubed.com Free Image Gallery allows you the flexibility to organize all your image galleries by category.
Creating a gallery takes only a few steps. First be sure your folders and images are named properly according to the help documentation, then apply the two required server behaviors.
What about layout? You have complete control over where the image gallery navigation and thumbnail tables are placed on the page as well as how many thumbnail images are displayed per column in the thumbnail's table.
