nCubed Free Members Only - Overview
The nCubed.com Free Members Only script allows you to rapidly build a Members Only section to any ASP/VBScript page in your site. You determine who has access to the page through nCubed password protection engineering.
Requirements
You must be hosted on a server that supports ASP/VBScript. Any standard Windows NT or Windows 2000 (or higher) server will meet the requirement.
This is not a Dreamweaver MX extension, nor does it require Dreamweaver MX to use.
Features
The nCubed.com Free Members Only script allows for a password protected page with the following features:
- Add an unlimited number of unique users.
- Display the user's name anywhere on the password protected page with a simple variable.
- Does not require the use of session variables or cookies to authenticate.
- With the free version, we are only building in the ability to protect a single page.
Marketing Fluff
The nCubed.com Free Members Only script was developed in response to the many requests from online development communities requesting a simple password protection schema.
Adding the password protection to your page is relatively simple: Add two "include" files, insert a couple of conditional statements, add your members to the allowed members list and you're done... easy peasy.
What if you know nothing about ASP/VbScript? No worries at all. The files you download are all but ready to use. There are comments in the code explaining exactly what you need to do and what not to touch. All you really need to do is copy and paste your content into the appropriate area and add your members to the allowed members list.
